Tour USA June 2005 (part 2)
It's been, what, over 2 months since my last post...gomen ne. Changes at work, yadayadayada...here we go again, Part II of our US summer vacation trip.
The baggage claim person at Logan was a complete bitch, which did not help after the Red Eye outta LAX. No sleep+uncooperative fuckwad=Nobu in a bad mood in Boston. But once we got settled in at the Chandler Inn (totally recomended!), I forgot all my worries and enjoyed Boston. What a beautiful city.
The Outlets
Let's Breed! comp LP
Throbbing Lobster 1984
Old Boston punk band, had a number of awesome tunes...the guitarist went on to be one of original members of the Dropkick Murphys!
More about the label, Throbbing Lobster.
Took the China Bus down to New York. More comfortable than economy seats on United and just 15 bucks...cab fare to our hotel from China Town was more expensive.
It's been 5 years since the last time I was in New York...post 911 changes? Couldn't really tell with only a few days in Manhattan. Met an old friend. Had bad Italian food, ok Japanese izakaya food and a great falafel. Walked thru Central Park. Caught a Yankees game and a couple of museums. Time moves fast in NYC, it all went by in a flash.
The Golden Palominos
Visions Of Excess (buy)
Celluloid 1985
Anton Fier, Bill Laswell and Johnny Rotten.
Kicking back after a 12 hour flight back to Tokyo. It was great to be back.
